Employee-partners from Bridgeville, Pennsylvania teamed up with Pittsburgh Cares, a non-profit organization who helps facilitate volunteer opportunities for organizations.
The employee-partners selected Sole Hope – an organization whose purpose is to effectively put in place preventive methods to combat diseases that enter through the feet and to create a positive physical and psychological difference in the lives of individuals in impoverished communities.
Employee-partners put their sewing skills to the test by recycling old blue jeans into shoe uppers. The uppers are then sewn and attached to soles made from rubber tires. Local tailors and shoemakers craft the Sole Hope shoes that are given out at medical clinics in Africa. The team really enjoyed their time with Sole Hope and look forward to helping them again in the future.
Thanks so much partners for making an impact in your community and beyond!
